Welcome to the Pecatonica Area School District's webpage, and welcome to my corner of our web presence. I want you to feel welcome in our school district and if there are any questions or concerns that you might have, I would hope that you would contact one of the principals, one of our staff, or me directly so that we can help you.

My first year in the school district was in the 2014-15 school year. My goals haven't changed much since then. Essentially I want this school district to be among the best, if not the best, school district in southern/southwestern Wisconsin.

My goal is that this district will be a place that when people think of excellence, they think Pecatonica.

I want all kids to feel that they are welcome here, that they can be themselves, that there are people who care about them here.

I want our curriculum to be challenging, rigorous, and relevant. We offer many different subjects, advanced placement, and career and tech-ed options. I want us to stay "cutting-edge" and prepare kids to be 21st century leaders.

I want our kids to excel. I want them to graduate from Pecatonica and be prepared to live and work in a cosmopolitan metropolis, or be perfectly comfortable starting a business and living their dream in rural Wisconsin.

I want our district to be a hub of parent and community involvement. Our schools are designed to be welcoming and are fortunate to have active parent and community activities and organizations.

A bit on my background:
I live in the community and my family is based here, and I am invested in these goals because this, too, is my school. I care about this school district and I care deeply about the Villages of Hollandale and Blanchardville, and everywhere else in-between.

I grew up in Northwest Indiana, just outside of Chicago. I was active in 4H and in Forensics. I played softball, but I played the piano better. I graduated from Indiana University with a double major in History and Sociology, and taught high school social studies (US History, World History, Geography, Government, and Sociology) for several years before we moved to Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin and working on my PhD from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, I was employed with the University of Wisconsin - Madison as an academic advisor and assistant dean with the College of Letters & Science. From there I worked with the Department of Public Instruction for many years as a Title I Consultant and eventually as an Assistant Director for Educator Licensing. I have a varied background in public education, and when I think back on my experiences, I realize now that I have worked in every level of public education from K-12 through college.

I hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and get to know more about the great things that Pecatonica has to offer.
